Suwon, Korea Named Intelligent Community of the Year

The Intelligent Community Forum (ICF) named Suwon, South Korea, the nation’s second largest city, as the Intelligent Community of the Year for 2010 at an awards ceremony this afternoon at Steiner Film Studios in Brooklyn, New York. In naming Suwon its Intelligent Community of the Year, ICF focused less on technology than on Suwon’s development of the “human software” within this highly-educated community.  "Investment in education," said Suwon’s mayor Yong Seo Kim, "is one of the most sound and rational outlays of capital that a government can ever make."

Intelligent Community Forum Names New Brunswick Premier Shawn Graham 2010 Intelligent Community Visionary of the Year

(New York City, 12 April 2010) - The Intelligent Community Forum (ICF), a New York-based think tank dedicated to studying the use of information and communications technology to create the community of the 21st Century, today named Shawn Graham, Premier of New Brunswick, Canada, as its Intelligent Community Visionary of the Year for 2010.  ICF selected Premier Graham based on his dedication to make New Brunswick the first complete broadband province in Canada and transform its educational system to pursue a knowledge-based economy. 
 
Premier Graham will deliver the Intelligent Community Visionary of the Year address at ICF's annual Building the Broadband Economy summit in New York City at Noon on 21 May.
