The Intelligent Community Forum (ICF) named Suwon, South Korea, the nation’s second largest city, as the Intelligent Community of the Year for 2010 at an awards ceremony this afternoon at Steiner Film Studios in Brooklyn, New York. In naming Suwon its Intelligent Community of the Year, ICF focused less on technology than on Suwon’s development of the “human software” within this highly-educated community. "Investment in education," said Suwon’s mayor Yong Seo Kim, "is one of the most sound and rational outlays of capital that a government can ever make."
(New York, USA, 7 May 2010) - On May 19-21, the leaders of the Intelligent Community Forum’s Top Seven Intelligent Communities of 2010 will share success stories from around the world, and discuss with 200 invited guests how they created new business and retain talent that powers innovative local economies from Virginia to South Korea.
The Intelligent Community Forum (ICF), a New York-based think tank that studies the impact of broadband and related information and communications technologies on the communities of the 21st Century, named the three recipients of its annual Founders Awards today. This year’s recipients reflect the forum’s annual theme, “The Education’s Last Mile: Closing the Gap from School to the Workforce.”
In January, ICF named Dublin, Ohio as one of the Top Seven Intelligent Communities of 2010. In preparation for the announcement of the Intelligent Community of the Year in May, ICF co-founder Louis Zacharilla visited Dublin and interviewed with Dublin Today.

ICF selected Premier Graham based on his dedication to make New Brunswick the first complete broadband province in Canada and transform its educational system to pursue a knowledge-based economy. Premier Graham will deliver the Intelligent Community Visionary of the Year address at ICF's annual Building the Broadband Economy summit in New York City at Noon on 21 May.
