It includes exploration of Intelligent Communities as platforms for innovation, the key challenges faced by the Top Seven Intelligent Communities, and presentation of broadband community applications.

The Udemba Group is developing Trend Media City, a new smart city zone for the Nigeria's burgeoning film industry, and the first of a planned chain of intelligent communities and economic empowerment zones throughout Africa.

clientuploads/Images/BBE10-McDaniel-Zach-200FL.gifThe Plenary takes place in the Dibner Auditorium of the Polytechnic Institute of New York University in Brooklyn, the "Left Bank" of New York City.  (See Locations & Accommodations.)  The Institute is a comprehensive school of engineering, applied sciences, technology and research, and is rooted in a 157-year tradition of invention, innovation and entrepreneurship in the City of New York.  

The Plenary features presentations on each of the Top7, conversations with community leaders and a chance to sample the culture of seven unique places - plus thought-provoking keynotes on fostering innovation that drives employment rather than destroying jobs.

Top Seven Intelligent Communities of 2013 Reception

Honoring the communities named by ICF as models for economic and social development in the broadband economyWelcome by Gale Brewer, Member, New York City Council.  Hosted by the Taiwan Economic and Cultural Office at 1 East 42nd Street.  This welcoming ground floor space is located at Manhattan's crossroad of 42nd Street and Fifth Avenue.

ICF Foundation Meeting and Awards Ceremony

In the morning, the Board and membership of the Intelligent Community Forum Foundation hold their annual meeting as guests at the private residence of the Australian Consul General. 

Other attendees are invited to attend a breakfast networking meeting of the i-CANADA Network, a national movement dedicated to the creation of Intelligent Communities in Canada, at the Canadian Consulate General.  

At lunch time, Summit attendees gather at Steiner Studio Stage Six in the Brooklyn Navy Yard redevelopment zone for the annual Intelligent Community Awards luncheon, where ICF will name one of the Top Seven Intelligent Communities as its Intelligent Community of the Year. 

Shuttle bus transportation to Steiner Studios will be provided from the entrance of the campus of the Polytechnic Institute on Jay Street.  Buses will leave at 12:00 noon.  Onsite parking at Steiner Studios is also available.  (See Location & Accommodations.)  The shuttle buses will return attendees to the Polytechnic Institute after the luncheon.
