Intelligent Community Awards honor Yunlin County
The conference finished with an awards dinner where ICF unveiled its Top7 Intelligent Communities for 2024. Loud cheers followed the announcement of the last community in alphabetical order – Yunlin County, Taiwan – and Deputy Magistrate Hsieh Shu-Ya was quick to thank ICF for the honor. Attendees also received invitations from BABLE’s Alexander Schmidt to attend the 2024 ICF Summit in Barcelona, held on the day before the opening of the Smart City Expo and Conference there, and from Councilor Alba Monteiro Gil to the 2025 Top7 Conference in Las Rozas de Madrid.
NTPC organized tours of city technology sites the following day, which included visits to the offices and facilities of Hon Hai Technology, better known as Foxconn, the world’s largest contractor manufacturer of electronics; the ASUS AI Cloud Innovation Center; and the government’s Tamsui Sewage Treatment Plant.
ICF thanks the ICF Institute, led by Dr. James Yeh and Ema Hsieh, and the NPTC Smart City, for organizing and hosting a stellar event for hundreds of attendees.
