The Big Apple is the wrong name for New York this summer.

No one knows what will come to New York this autumn and beyond. It will not be the World Series, Tracy Letts’ new play or a fraction of our 65.2 million annual visitors. New York will not be as fine as apple pie by Columbus Day or Thanksgiving. These two holidays might not even be around by Christmas! Without its theaters, restaurants, museums and the everyday energy of vendors and street life, New York is a harsher, more hollow place, and no place for epicureans hungry for its unique slice of American culture.

In this video, ICF Co-Founder Lou Zacharilla discusses COVID-19 with Illinois Critical Access Hospital Network’s Pat Schou. Pat Schou is the executive director of the Illinois Critical Access Hospital Network (ICAHN), the first state-wide critical access hospital (CAH) network established in 2003 comprised of 57 CAH and rural hospitals which is providing a number of hospital support services and educational programs as well as managing several grant programs for the Illinois Department of Public Health and other organizations. In addition, Schou is the executive director of the Illinois Rural Community Care Organization (IRCCO), which is a statewide rural accountable care organization comprised of 27 critical access and rural hospitals. Schou has more than 40 years of clinical and rural hospital administrative experience and is the current president of the National Rural Health Association where she has held several positions.

Mayor Fred Eisenberger was born in Amsterdam and immigrated to Canada with his family when he was eight years old. His experience, vision and leadership led him to a successful return to office as Hamilton’s Mayor in October 2014. His passion for the city and plans for growth and prosperity support the desire to take Hamilton to new levels, firmly placing it as one of the 10 largest and most important municipalities in the country. Fred has previously served as a member of city council, Chair of the Hamilton Port Authority and as President and Chief Executive Officer of the Canadian Urban Institute.
