Seven communities from seven nations named as
finalists for the 2026 Intelligent Community of the Year Award

(New York City – June 16, 2026) – The Intelligent Community Forum announced today the Full Certification of Yunlin County, a major supplier of agricultural and fisheries products to Taiwan. The announcement took place at “Circular Living,” the 2026 Top7 Intelligent Communities conference taking
place in the province of Limburg, Netherlands.

Yunlin County had previously qualified for Provisional Certification based on self-reported data. A two-day, onsite audit by an ICF representative validated this information and provided fresh insights into how the county works to to automate production, retain young talent, promote the creation of new companies and prevent the decline that affects so many agricultural regions around the world.

(New York City – March 24, 2026) – The Intelligent Community Forum announced today the Full Certification of Assaí, a community of 15,000 people located in Paraná, Brazil.

Meeting ICF’s Certification standard provides objective validation that a community has high-quality connectivity, effective workforce development, a business innovation ecosystem and meaningful community engagement, digital inclusion and sustainability programs in place. These qualities combine to support the growth of innovative businesses, meet their talent needs and provide inclusive prosperity and a high quality of life.

(11 February, 2026 – New York, NY, USA & Florianópolis, Santa Catarina, Brazil) – The Intelligent Community Forum (ICF) and EXXAS today jointly announced a strategic partnership aimed at supporting communities across Brazil in engaging with the global intelligent community movement.

Through this collaboration, EXXAS will work closely with Brazilian cities and regions to help them participate in ICF programs and initiatives, including submissions to ICF’s annual Awards Program, Certification of Intelligent Community status, membership with ICF, participation in international delegation trips, and other opportunities for global learning and recognition.

(New York City – November 18, 2025) The Intelligent Community Forum today announced the Full Certification of Kingston in Ontario, Canada as an Intelligent Community, effective November 1, 2025. Certification was issued based on an audit of the initiatives, programs and policies that make Kingston a highly desirable place to learn, live, work and set down roots in Canada.

(May 11, 2023 – New York City, NY, USA) – The Intelligent Community Forum announced today the certification of Binh Duong Smart City in Vietnam as an Intelligent Community, identifying it as investment-ready and prepared to prosper economically, socially and culturally amid the challenges and opportunities of the Digital Decades.

Taoyuan, Taiwan & New York, USA – 10 January 2022 - Topics such as net-zero carbon emission and sustainability have become key issues to the global community. Undeterred by the coronavirus pandemic, Department of Information Technology of Taoyuan City Government partnered with the internationally acclaimed ICF as a front runner in 2022. As a prelude to the Smart City Summit & Expo 2022 held in Taiwan, Taoyuan City will co-host with ICF the series of “Taoyuan x ICF: City-Leaders Conversation” with fellow intelligent communities on how to best respond to the challenges at hand.
