In March 2017, John G. Jung presented to City of Prospect and Eastern Region Alliance Councils on what it means to be an intelligent community. City of Prospect, a five time accredited Intelligent Communities Forum (ICF) Smart City, also hosted a collaborative tour of Little City Studio, Blackfriars Priory School and Prospect Primary School.
“Economic development is everyone’s responsibility and it is so inspiring to be part of a council that is committed to continuing the transformation of our local economy. Digital technologies are just one dimension of the range of improvements we have implemented and will continue to pursue for our community. We have a relentless focus on supporting our micro and small business sector because we know every new job and every new service we can encourage and support provides multiple benefits for our local community,” said City of Prospect Mayor David O’Loughlin.
“As our national award winning Digital Economy Strategy continues to roll out, we have delivered over 8,000 local training outcomes from our popular Digital Hub; our Network Prospect initiative is providing online business support and training opportunities for micro and small businesses; and our corridor rezoning has attracted record interest, investment and population growth on Churchill Road, with Prospect Road fast catching up,” said Mayor O’Loughlin.
“Membership of the ICF provides us with exactly the right focus on the future. The 160 communities strong ICF were among the first in the world to recognise the importance of using data driven, evidence based decision making to improve communities,” said Mayor O’Loughlin.
