For Hudson, lessons learned are a victory in Intelligent Community competition

Hudson was not named the Intelligent Community of the Year for 2019, but that fact doesn't mean the city didn't come out of the process a winner, according to Jim Stifler, Hudson's chief economic officer.

"In my mind, Hudson wins by just doing this," he said.

The recognition of Intelligent Community of the Year is bestowed on a single community around the world by the Intelligent Community Forum (ICF), a global think tank comprising 1,500 cities and municipalities on six continents. The group focuses on social and economic growth in the broadband era.

The 2019 honor, judged last month by international jurors and unveiled at the ICF Global Summit in New York, went to Taoyuan, Taiwan.
