Langley City has been named a Smart21 Community of 2026, becoming a semi-finalist in the selection of the Intelligent Community of the Year Award.

The annual award is organized by the Intelligent Community Forum (ICF), and this is the second year running that Langley City has received the Smart21 designation. 

According to the ICF, becoming an intelligent community comes from projects like deploying broadband network and digital services, engaging the community, sparking innovation, and helping the offline population benefit from the online economy.
