EIPO - Global Presence, Local Impact.
The Eindhoven International Project Office (https://eipo.nl/) leverages its Brainport Eindhoven roots - home to over 300 tech companies and recognized by ICF as Intelligent Community of the Year (2011) - to support communities worldwide in their need to change towards a sustainable and resilient future.
Core Expertise
EIPO’s core expertise lies in guiding cities, regions, and nations through transitions toward innovation, sustainability, and inclusive growth. The organization designs and implements visionary urban development strategies, including new city planning, innovation districts, and campus models. It also supports the creation of dynamic smart city ecosystems by developing digital roadmaps, launching pilot labs and demonstrators in areas such as energy, mobility, health, and governance, and fostering smart village initiatives. Central to EIPO’s work is building robust innovation ecosystems through open innovation strategies, techlabs, and triple-helix governance models that align public, private, and academic sectors.
Beyond infrastructure and technology, EIPO places strong emphasis on economic resilience and social impact. Its services include cluster development, startup incubation, investment attraction, and regional branding, as well as guidance on renewable energy frameworks and circular economy principles. EIPO also champions societal engagement by promoting inclusive governance, stakeholder participation, talent development, and SME support. Across all areas, the organization integrates the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), ensuring that its strategies are both future-oriented and grounded in social responsibility.
Strategic Global Alliance with ICF
In June 2023, EIPO was named a Global Partner of the Intelligent Community Forum, alongside BABLE Smart Cities of Stuttgart, Germany, to jointly accelerate the Forum's mission in Europe and Asia and foster smart city development worldwide. This partnership underscores EIPO’s long-standing history of collaboration with ICF in regions such as Vietnam, enhancing urban and economic resilience through data-driven, community-centric solutions.
